Int Conf AIDS. 1998;12:1017 (abstract no. 60094). Unique Identifier :

OBJECTIVES: Study the HIV2 infection seroprevalency evolution in Niger by a retrospective study of the serological tests done over a three year period. METHODS: All the 25,368 people tested during this periode are included in the study. They are blood donneurs, hospitalized patients, pregnant women, prostitutes, prisoners.... All serums were tested in ELAVIA mixt, the positive ones in ELAVIA 1 and 2 and then by LAV blot 1 and/or 2. TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME. CONCLUSION: A constant progression of the HIV1 is noticed, a regular regression of the HIV2 and a substantiel stability of the HIV1 + 2 association. The regular regression of the HIV2 can be explained by the less infectuosity and/or by a failure to adopt in 2 country recently infected by the HIV.
