Man denies infecting two women he met in Basingstoke with HIV

A man has denied infecting two women he met in Hampshire with the HIV virus.

Henry Assumang, 33, denied two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm on the women, who cannot be identified.

Mr Assumang, who is HIV positive, is accused of having sexual relationships with the women between 2007 and 2010 after meeting them in Basingstoke.

Recorder Maria Lamb granted bail to the Ghanaian, of Coppice Pale, Chineham, Basingstoke, and adjourned the case for a trial starting on 11 June.
