According to a report in the Northeast Mississippi Daily
Journal, Amory Public Schools has adopted an abstinence-only
approach for sex education classes beginning in the fall.
Parents will decide whether their children take part in the
classes, in which students will be separated by gender. Under
state law, Mississippi school districts have until June 30 to
decide whether to offer abstinence-only or abstinence-plus sex
education starting with the 2012-13 academic year.
