HARTFORD, Conn.--Connecticut HIV and AIDS activists and advocates will be rallying at the state Capitol to bring awareness to the diseases and encourage individuals to get tested.
The Thursday morning rally is sponsored by the CT AIDS Resource Coalition. Prior to the rally state lawmakers and officials will host a 10 a.m. news conference on the issue at the Legislative Office Building.
Advocates will rally to raise awareness about the diseases and urge state lawmakers to support AIDS funding. They will wear red t-shirts that encourage HIV testing.
Public officials, including Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's chief of staff, Mark Ojakian, are expected to attend the rally.
