GAMBIA: WHO Finances Gambia's TB Surveillance Campaign

The World Health Organization has offered millions of dollars in support for Gambia's TB surveillance program, health officials said Wednesday. The survey is being carried out in accordance with TB targets in the Millennium Development Goals; it was launched by the Medical Research Council in partnership with the Gambian government, Health Minister Fatim Badjie said. Gambian health officials say TB is believed to be the country's leading cause of death.
