FLORIDA: University Student in Tampa Diagnosed with TB

Associated Press (05.23.12) - Wednesday, May 23, 2012

In the second such case at the school this year, a University of South Florida student has been diagnosed with TB. The student is receiving treatment and recovering in isolation, the Hillsborough County Health Department said Tuesday. Officials have notified about 30 people that they may have been exposed to the infection; these individuals will be tested beginning next week. The university's earlier case, which occurred in February, does not appear to be related to the new case.
