SINGAPORE: Tuberculosis On the Rise in Singapore, Say Experts

Channel NewsAsia recently reported a gradual increase in TB cases in Singapore throughout the last few years with 1,099 cases recorded through September, although experts expect reported cases to decrease this year. The Health Ministry cited 1,560 TB cases for 2012, in comparison with 1,451 for 2008. Experts advocated vigilance and discipline among patients taking medication for TB so as to prevent the increase of multidrug-resistant TB.
