TEXAS: Laredo Health Department Offers HIV/STD Testing (11.08.2013)

The Laredo Sun recently reported about an STD clinic that offers testing and treatment for STDs, including HIV. The clinic at the Laredo Health Department is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Patients can receive low-cost treatment for STDs such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, and genital warts, said Juan Méndez, a clinic educator. Right now, the clinic averages 10 patrons every day. According to Méndez, the clinic also hopes to prevent HIV by providing education and free condoms.
