Arizona Daily Star (Tucson) (01.23.2014)
The Arizona Daily Star reported on the efforts of a Tucson nonprofit support group to bring in additional volunteer staff to help the local HIV/AIDS community. The Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network (TIHAN), Arizona’s largest privately funded provider of support services for those with HIV or AIDS, has approximately 450 volunteers, but recently announced that it needs more. Volunteers do not need to commit to a specific amount of time and they can apply to a variety of opportunities, including clerical positions, data entry, meal preparation, transportation to doctor appointments, and other possibilities. TIHAN is holding an orientation for prospective volunteers on January 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 East Adams Street, Tucson at a cost of $17; however, TIHAN is offering full and partial scholarships. For more information, visit www.tihan.org, or contact Alicia Talerico at (520) 299–6647 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
