The Pacific News Center reported that Guam’s Project Isa-Ta will commemorate National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with an outreach event next week. The observance day is to bring awareness of the disease’s impact on women and girls. The goal is to encourage women and girls to practice prevention efforts, get tested, and learn how to manage HIV if they test positive. Project Isa-Ta, a WestCare Pacific Islands program, will host the event that will showcase Guam’s finest female role models and mentors who are leaders in the community and have inspired hope. Organizers hope the event will help the island’s youth build the groundwork for their future goals and motivate them for success. The event, which is free for participating members, will take place on Saturday, March 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Agana Shopping Center in Guam.
