ConnectAmarillo (Texas) (11.08.12) The Panhandle AIDS Support Organization (PASO) is preparing for its biggest fundraiser of the year. The event, called Turnabout, will celebrate 25 years of helping Panhandle residents with HIV/AIDS. The event will take place on Saturday evening, November 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and will have a country-western theme, “Grand Ole PASO Too.” PASO Executive Director Michael Timcisko said, “We decided to bring back a county-western theme this year. It was one of our most successful themes many years ago. It’s quite a fun show.” Timcisko said PASO hopes to raise more than $40,000 during the event. Timcisko noted that PASO helps more than 200 Panhandle residents with medical expenses and other needs that may arise. PASO estimates that the Texas Panhandle is home to approximately 2,500 people with HIV. PASO provides services to individuals who have a diagnosis of either HIV or AIDS.
