According to Saskatoon health region officials, out of 589 students contacted by the University of Saskatchewan about being tested for TB after potential contact with an infected student, only 244 students have come forward for TB testing. No cases of TB were found, although some students did have the latent form of TB. Spokesperson for the university, David Hannah, said that the school may attempt to reach the remaining untested students through additional publicity, such as newspaper ads and posters. Further testing, including follow- up tests for those already checked, is scheduled for early January.
