The Jamaica Plain, Mass. nonprofit, Community Servings, has received $50,000 in funding from Newman’s Own Foundation. The award to the nonprofit, which serves meals to those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, was made as part of Newman’s Own Foundation’s nutrition-related funding initiative. The award will allow Community Servings to develop a program titled the “Family Nutrition Initiative,” which will encompass a series of nutrition education workshops for children and family members targeted to those who have newly transitioned to housing.
