CALIFORNIA: Adult Films Pause After Actor's HIV Infection

An adult film actor’s recent HIV-positive diagnosis has led adult film industry leaders this week to call an indefinite halt to filming. Free Speech Coalition Chief Executive Officer Diane Duke said that there was no evidence of on-set transmission of the virus and that the industry’s self-imposed STD testing standards were stringent. However, Michael Weinstein, president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, said the diagnosis underscored the need for the industry’s compliance with a county ordinance requiring condom use in adult films.
