NEW YORK (AP) - Police were summoned to New York's City Hall Park after two AIDS activists with a banner perched on flagpoles.
The action was staged late Thursday morning by the group Housing Works.
Other people had trouble getting through parts of the park because of the protest.
The protesters went midway up the poles and spread their banner across a walkway.
The group says government policies have weakened the housing support network for people with HIV and AIDS.
The banner said: "Housing is health care. House people living with HIV/AIDS."
