Arizona Daily Star (Tucson) (03.16.13) A new statewide resource tool— hivaz.org—created by the nonprofit group Aunt Rita’s Foundation based in Phoenix, Ariz., is intended to connect individuals living with HIV infection to the services they are looking for and need. The existence of a resource such as hivaz.org with free or low-cost testing resources that links to basic information about HIV infection, low-cost care options, a calendar of statewide support groups and events, and to local resources is invaluable according to Kit Kloeckl, executive director at Aunt Rita’s Foundation. In urban areas such as Tucson and Phoenix, it is not as difficult to find resources, but in more rural areas it is much more difficult, explains Ethan Cox, director of development at Southern Arizona Aids Foundation. As of June 2012, 14,705 Arizonans were living with HIV/AIDS, approximately 230 cases per 100,000 individuals according to the Arizona Department of Health.
