AFRICA: 2 Million Adolescents Live With HIV/AIDS in Africa

ANGOP (Angola) (05.29.2013) Aids Weekly Plus

A recently released report estimates that 2 million HIV-positive adolescents live in Africa, but only 15 percent of 15–24 year-olds in sub-Saharan Africa know their HIV status. According to the report, evidence shows that most HIV-positive individuals are not benefitting from Positive Health, Dignity, and Prevention (PHDP) efforts, and that PHDP strategies may face more particular challenges with younger individuals.
