Myfoxdetroit.com reported that the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has advised patients and staff who may have been exposed to TB from a recently diagnosed healthcare worker that they should get tested. Different area hospitals employed the healthcare worker; these hospitals have identified approximately 560 patients who interacted with the worker during dental care between August 1 and December 17, 2013. The following hospitals employed the worker during this time period: Detroit Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital, St. John Hospital and Medical Center, and University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. MDCH will continue to work with these facilities and will provide information as it becomes available. For questions about TB, visit www.michigan.gov/tb or www.cdc.gov/tb.
