According to a search-warrant affadavit filed in district court in Spokane, Wash., district attorney's investigators seized the records of a medical clinic last month looking for evidence that a man had AIDS. The records seized were those of Thomas R. Williams, who was accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy. Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree rape of a child. A third charge of second-degree assault for exposing the child to HIV was filed when clinic records indicated Williams had been treated for AIDS-related illnesses.
