UNITED STATES: FDA Approves New HIV Blood Test from Roche

On Dec. 29, federal regulators announced they have approved a
Roche human plasma test for HIV, including HIV-2 and HIV-1
Group O strains. The latter strains are mainly found in
patients from Africa, but the Food and Drug Administration
said cases have recently been detected in the United States.
The TaqScreen MPX Test also screens for hepatitis B and C. For
