On Wednesday, the 2010 Hill Country Ride for AIDS debuted a new iPhone application that allows participants to improve their fundraising efforts. Developed by Austin-based Charity Dynamics, the Ride 4 AIDS application lets users create a fundraising page that includes customized progress-tracking meters, uploaded photos, ride training schedules, routes and other event details. Users can also send text messages to their contact lists, asking for donations. "Essentially, they're able to convert their iPhones into their own fundraising headquarters, and will be better prepared to take full advantage of spontaneous fundraising opportunities," said David Smith, the ride's executive director. The Hill Country ride takes place April 24 and aims to raise $700,000 to support Texans living with HIV/AIDS.
