Dr. Evelyn McKnight, one of 99 patients who contracted hepatitis C in 2002 through unsafe injections administered at a Fremont cancer clinic, is among advocates heading to Washington next week to tell her story to lawmakers. McKnight, her husband Dr. Thomas McKnight, and Travis Bennington, an attorney who represented many of the clinic victims, together created the Hepatitis Outbreak National Organization for Reform; it is part of the coalition supporting the "One and Only Campaign," which works to spread the word about safe injection practices.
