The article presents a study on quality of life perceptions among a demographically diverse sample of HIV-infected people. The researchers found that 49% of the respondents felt their lives were better after being infected with HIV. The major factors correlating with this figure include being at peace with God and the universe, being a woman, and being a former injection drug user. The implications of these findings and other survey results are described. Additional research is needed to find out how clinicians can help more HIV patients improve their quality of life.
