KAZAKHSTAN: Kazakhstan Has 17,266 Registered HIV Carriers

Kazakhstan's Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS said
Friday that the nation had 17,266 registered HIV cases as of
Oct. 1, up by 1,358 from the 15,908 recorded through Feb. 1,
2010. The center said 1,432 of these individuals had
progressed to AIDS, while 1,110 had died. Kazakhstan logged a
total of 1,969 new HIV cases last year.
