December 16, 2011
United Press International (12.14.11) - Friday, December 16,

The sale of jewelry from the estate of the late Elizabeth Taylor brought in a total of $115 million, the auction house Christie's told the New York Post. Part of the proceeds from the sale will go to the screen star's AIDS foundation. The sale set a new world's record for the auction of a single private jewelry collection. "It's one of the most extraordinary auctions that Christie's has ever had and a testament to the affection for Elizabeth Taylor worldwide," said Christie's Americas President Marc Porter.
