An inmate at the Boyd County Detention Center (Kentucky), who was getting a routine medical pre-screening on September 19, tested positive for TB. At the screening, he informed medical personnel that there was a possibility that he was infected. His lab report confirmed the diagnosis, according to Kristy Bolen of the Ashland-Boyd County Health Department. The inmate is being treated in isolation at a hospital. Bolen stated that TB skin tests will be administered to approximately 50 jail employees and law enforcement officers and 220 inmates who might have been exposed to the disease.
