NEW YORK (AP) - Harlem Hospital has opened a new high-tech patient pavilion.
Officials said Thursday it's one of the biggest major public hospital modernization projects in the city's history.
The $325 million facility will expand access to preventive health services, emergency room care and specialty care.
It also will address the community's high rates of asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and stroke.
Historic murals by African-American artists have been restored as part of the project.
