WSET-TV (01.05.13)The nonprofit healthcare organization PATHS CHAAP Services, which helps to treat individuals who have been diagnosed with HIV, has brought sections of the AIDS memorial quilt to Danville, Va. The display opened at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts on January 5, and will remain on view through the rest of January. Portions of the quilt are currently being exhibited throughout the country, but this is the first time sections are being displayed in Danville. Serving as a tribute to those who have lost their lives to AIDS, the quilt was begun in 1987 and now weighs approximately 54 tons when fully assembled.
