INDIANA: Health Department Releases New Immunization Rules

Evansville Courier & Press (01.10.13)

Indiana health department officials recommend that kindergarten students receive two doses of the hepatitis A vaccine and that 11th and 12th grade students get a booster dose of the meningitis vaccination. New Indiana health department rules now require students in all grades to receive two chicken pox vaccinations, unless a student can prove that she or he has previously contracted the disease. In the past, students in some grade levels were required to have only one chicken pox vaccination. Indiana residents can visit the MyVaxIndiana website to check their immunization records from any computer by using a personal identification number, which they can obtain through their healthcare providers. Users are able to download, print, or fax records that include CDC’s recommended immunization schedule.
