January 30, 2013 (Tucson) (01.29.13)

The Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) and National Community Health Partners are combining forces to bring National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) events to Tucson on February 7, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at the Donna R. Liggins Recreation Center, located at 2160 N. 6th Avenue. This year’s events include a showing of the movie “Ending Silence, Shame, and Stigma: HIV/AIDS in the African-American Family,” which will be followed by a panel discussion. Participants will also be offered free and confidential HIV and hepatitis C testing. This event is free and open to the public, with catering provided by the local eatery Eegees. The theme for this year’s NBHAAD event is “Our ancestors fought that we might be free—EVEN FROM HIV!” For more information about the event, please visit the Facebook page at!/events/462289803819681/ or contact Matthew B.
