OHIO: Ohio Agency Approves $1.2M in AIDS Housing Grants

The state of Ohio has awarded grants worth more than $1.2 million to four organizations serving the needs of Ohio residents living with HIV-related diseases or AIDS. The grants are part of a federal program being administered by the state of Ohio. According to the Ohio Development Services Agency, the grants will help provide mortgage, rental, and utility assistance as well as other services to more than 2,600 people. The four organizations receiving the grants are the AIDS Resource Center Ohio in Montgomery County; Community Services of Stark County, Inc.; COMPASS Family and Community Services in Mahoning County; and Community AIDS Network in Summit County. The AIDS Resource Center Ohio in Montgomery County will use its funding of more than $950,000 to provide housing and supportive housing services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the cities of Lima, Athens, Dayton, Toledo, and Mansfield, plus the surrounding areas.
