As a part of the Get Yourself Tested (GYT) campaign, which is intended to increase STD testing awareness, Ohio’s Union County Health Department and the AIDS Taskforce are teaming to sponsor free STD/HIV testing for community members on March 28 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Union County Services Building, 940 London Avenue, Marysville, Ohio. Health experts reported that chlamydia is the number one reportable disease in both Union County and the state of Ohio. According to Susie Knox, lead nurse for the county health department’s Sexual Health Clinic, sexually transmitted infections are prevalent in most communities in the nation and knowing one’s status through testing is the best way to protect oneself.
