A bill, LB528, is being debated in the Nebraska legislature that would allow doctors and nurses to give prescription drugs to partners of people diagnosed with chlamydia or gonorrhea without an office visit. The bill was introduced by Sen. Sara Howard. The purpose of the bill is to prevent reinfection between partners and, also, to protect pregnant mothers from passing illnesses to babies.
