On May 1 two employees of On The Way Cafe, a coffee shop located inside Hutch’s Car Wash in Hayward, Calif., plan to donate their tips to Asian Health Services, which is sponsoring National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on May 18. Cafe owner Alan Vorhees and employee Jojo Soresca will contribute their tips to the awareness effort. The café is located in Hutch’s Car Wash at 1367 A Street, Hayward, Calif. Asian Health Services is currently working to raise awareness in the Asian and Pacific Islander community about HIV testing since one in three do not know that they carry the virus. For National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on May 18, the organization will feature a Yogathon and awareness day, which will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Madison Square Park, 849 Madison Street in Oakland.
