An additional eight patients of Dr. W. Scott Harrington in Tulsa, Okla., have tested positive for hepatitis C, but health officials have said that it would be highly unusual for them to have contracted the virus in his clinic. To date, county health clinics throughout the state have screened nearly 3,600 patients, with a total of 65 testing positive for hepatitis C, 2 for hepatitis B, and 1–2 for HIV. However, Harrington’s staff said several patients came to the clinic already infected.
