South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control co-hosted an informational meeting with school officials from Ninety-Six Primary School in Greenwood County, S.C., on May 29 after discovering students may have been exposed to TB at the school sometime within the last few months. Parents of students who may have been exposed to the infectious disease first heard about the possibility this week. School officials could not say at the May 29 meeting exactly when the exposure took place, but said they followed state guidelines for notifying parents. The school will offer TB screening on May 31 only to students officials believe may have been exposed to the infection.
