California’s largest simultaneous hepatitis B screening took place at 10 Bay Area sites on July 28 in honor of World Hepatitis Day, including Think Tank Learning in Palo Alto. Students of the educational center spread the word through the community about the screening event and the importance of being vaccinated. Pacific Islanders are particularly susceptible to hepatitis B and organizers said that two-thirds of infected individuals are unaware they had the virus.
