NORTH DAKOTA: North Dakota, Fed Health Officials Probe Hepatitis C Cases

State and federal health officials currently are investigating a number of hepatitis C cases in Ward County, N.D., that are linked to a Minot nursing home. On October 17, the North Dakota Department of Health released a statement explaining that three cases initially identified in August had increased to 28 cases, and that more testing will be most likely be needed. All cases involved individuals over the age of 60 who were former or current residents of ManorCare Health Services. The Health Department has activated a public health hotline available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (866) 207–2880.
