West reported that individuals in Belgium who have engaged in what they fear may be risky sexual behavior now are able to take an online quiz that can estimate the probability of whether they contracted a sexually transmitted infection such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV, or viruses such as hepatitis B and C. The test asks a few questions about the nature of the intimate relationship that took place; if the individual’s responses indicate a risk that they have been infected, the test site provides information about clinics and medical centers that can provide assistance. The Ministry of Health in Brussels funds the site and the Plate-Forme Prévention Sida promotes it. For more information on the online quiz, visit http://preventionist.org/.
