AIDS Education Meeting Opens

The Second International Conference on AIDS Education opened Tuesday in
Charleston, S.C. More than 500 public health workers, educators, and
doctors from around the world planned to attend. The
conference--sponsored by the International Society for AIDS Education,
the University of South Carolina School of Public Health, and the
Carolina AIDS Research and Education Project--features workshops on AIDS
education among blacks, in the workplace, and in prison. Participants
will discuss strategies used around the world to educate people on AIDS
prevention. Featured speakers include the National Cancer Institute's
Dr. James Mason and the National AIDS Network's PAUl Kawata. A second
two-day conference on on managing AIDS services and resources in the U.S.
will follow the international meeting.
