Dextran Sulfate, one of the most popular underground AIDS remedies, isn't absorbed into the blood well enough to work, Dr. Donald Abrams, head of AIDS research at San Francisco Generall, reported. Abrams is directing a national study of the drug, which as many as 1000 San Francisco residents take. Researchers reportedly knew of the negative results for more than a month, but did not report them so thatpeople taking the drug would not be discouraged.
