News Delivery Services

WebBoard was selected for AEGiS because of its capability of effectively delivering our HIV/AIDS information. AEGiS readers have three choices: read postings by visiting WebBoard directly, signing up for e-mail delivery*, or by adding our RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feed.

The variety of information we supply comes mainly from the sources represented on our website. Other posts may include only an article or publication's title with a web-link directing readers to important HIV/AIDS news, information or a pertinent announcement. The range and amount of information that we disseminate varies from day to day. Typically, readers can expect more WebBoard posts to occur during an HIV/AIDS conference, World AIDS Day, or when an HIV/AIDS occurrence happens (it could be anything!). That being said, please expect five or more postings to occur each day. As always, our HIV/AIDS information is first posted to each respective archive section of AEGiS, and then disseminated.

Currently, there are three main sections, or conferences, available on our WebBoard: HIV-AIDS News, HIV-AIDS Science , and AIDS Support.

RSS

AEGiS Daily HIV/AIDS News Update and clinical information is available through WebBoard's RSS feed, which uses a technology called XML to deliver headlines and summaries to your desktop. Many news organizations provide local and regional RSS feeds, and we recommend RSS in preference to E-mail for news delivery.

For more information about the use of RSS on the AEGiS web site, click here.

NOTE: RSS, unlike E-mail (SMTP), does NOT require your subscribing to WebBoard.

E-mail (SMTP)

*Please note: Due to technical difficulties E-mail delivery service is not available at this time. Please consider the RSS feed as an alternative.(September 2008)

With WebBoard’s mailing list capabilities, registered users can participate in conferences via email. After subscribing to conference mailing lists, a user receives all messages posted to the conference and responds or posts new topics, all via email.

For more information about the E-mail from the AEGiS web site and instructions on how to sign up, click here.
