Question:

I have been on Stocrin and Kivexa for 7 months now. I am a 46 y.o. male.

My cd4 was 209, VL 49,000, cd4% 14. After 7 months my cd4 is 267, VL 0, cd4% 17.

Have also developed seborrheic dermatitis on my face, which is very slow to respond to treatment.

Anything to worry about here?

John Barrow, M.D.

You are on a standard first line therapy.

The increase from 209 to 267 T cells may seem small, but when you look at T cells, the percentages are more important than the other numbers. The increase from 14% to 17% in impressive.

Even better, the viral load shows an excellent response to therapy.

It's worth noting that T cells change in variable ways when you start medications. Some people will go from zero to 1000 quickly, others will follow a very gradual rise. With only two measurements, I wouldn't be concerned, the trend is in the right direction

I think you are having a good response to your therapy at seven months.
