Sixth International Congress Drug Therapy in HIV Infection 17-21 November, 2002 Glasgow, UK

This session will discuss my diagnosis and the consequent evolution. Broadly this will include medical history (gastro-intestinal problems, hepatitis, etc.); virological situation today; most prominent personal fears and anxieties of starting therapy. The presentation will discuss in more detail the following:

• metabolic disorders/physical changes
  
• gastro-intestinal implications
  
• cardio-vascular implications
  
• pain (in function of eventual neurological implications)
  
• other, as yet unknow, AE's (the "great unknown" about the long term side effects)
  
• sexual dysfunctions
  
• other personal QoL issues
  
• the regimen to start with ?
  
• hopes for future treatments (second generation therapy, therapeutic vaccin, genetic therapy etc...)
