Response to the plight of AIDS orphans in Kenya.

OBJECTIVE: Giving Aids orphans a future.

METHODS: Aids orphans are identified through NGO's working on AIDS. The society provide social, physical and psychological support to these orphans. The approach is to mobilize the community in responding to the needs of AIDS orphans.

RESULTS: Behaviour change as a result of psychological support and awareness campaign noted. Three programmes which involve the community have been established to get support for some children.

CONCLUSION: Call for community response to the needs of Aids orphans.
