OBJECTIVE: To measure the marginal yield (additional effort) of Nurses, by use Number, in taking charge of the AIDS sick.

METHODS: The use number of Nurses in taking care of sick (Vitals signs, administration Ways, Blood sample & Analysis, Maintenance) has been observed on 196 Hospitalized (98 HIV + 98 seronegatives) in 1992. Regression analysis using pooling data was applied with: Total Nurse's care as dependent variable, serology (binary variable) and stay length as independent variables. Using separability, the same regression was doing twice with the same independent variables and as dependent variable respectively Nurse's care on administration ways and Nurse's care in taking vitals signs.

RESULTS: (table: see text)

CONCLUSIONS: Today Nurses are compelled to work more facing AIDS sick, sometimes doubly.
