ISSUES: Empowering care providers with specific skills in counseling children with HIV infection/disease.This initiative was taken on realizing the need to protect children, share information/experiences in communication with children identify appropriate methods which can be adopted for use in counseling, identify appropriate specific skills required for counseling children, demonstrate basic skills in counseling HIV-infected children, identify social support systems available for HIV-infected children in Uganda and develop a plan for future action.
RESULTS: Still talking to parents and guardians to identify proper target to counsel. However, it appears this will be well accepted by the parent and children as evidence of the general behavior change approach groups which are seen stated by the youth, Save Youth Against AIDS (SYFA) Youth Alive Club etc. and AIDS Support Organization (TASO). Lessons To Learn: This can lead to behavioral change and over all control of the population there by bringing about prevention on HIV transmission.
