Coping with consequences of AIDS in the community.

OBJECTIVE: Share the magnitude of the problem, sensitization, capacity building improvement of quality of human life. Method: Education, awareness; involvement, delegation, monitoring, analysis, evaluation adjustment.

RESULTS: Community response was reflected in the following areas: - Family and caretaker adjustment - Local authority response - Opinion leaders/religious leaders involved; responded - Support agencies intervention - Capacity building and support services vitalized.

CONCLUSION: So far efforts, resources, personnel; facilities and services have yielded tangible results ranging from spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical, economic and community adjustment.
