ISSUE: Volunteer-based organisation with no benefit aim where social workers, nurses, etc. collaborate in order to fight AIDS.

PROJECT: The anti-AIDS committee works on a program -basis which is primarily aimed at affected communities and population in general. The problem includes: a) Informing people about AIDS and its social impact. b) Counselling tarfetinf seropositive individuals providing them with psychological assistance, health centers' phone numbers, etc. c) Education and prevention polices involving workshop activities, condom distribution, etc. d) Collaboration with other institutions in on-AIDS information activities.

RESULTS: The local anti-AIDS committee program has proved to be effective: In the last three months the number of phone calls asking for some AIDS related information talks have recorded a higher level of attendance. On the AIDS World Day street support groups were deeply involved in the AIDS committee programLessons Learned: Education and prevention policies have proved to be the best way to fight AIDS development. Also, volunteers and strut support collaboration are essential to make these policies reach population in general.
