INTRODUCTION: Previous to a training course a survey was conducted with the purpose of knowing HIV/AIDS knowledge and experience, in the health of health of the Ministry of Health in Mexico, a previous survey to a training course
DESCRIPTION: 4878 registrations of people inscribed to the course were analyzed, corresponding to: general doctors (30.8%) and specialists (16.8%), nurses (31.4%), dentists (8.6%), social workers (6.0%), psychologists (1.4%), chemists (3.9%) and nutritionists (0.3%); corresponding to 13 federative entities. 62.2% corresponds to women and 36.2% to men. 68.5% of those inscribed had not taken any HIV/AIDS training course. 44.2% had several years taking care of patients. 25% of health personnel taking care of an average of more than 50 patients have had no HIV/AIDS training course ever Learned lesson: More HIV/AIDS training courses and strategies are necessary. What have been done until know has not been enough. Periodical knowledge evaluation with the purpose of improving the quality of the integral attention of people VIH/SIDA and general population on this suffering is needed. RECOMMENDATION: It's advisable to establish projects not guided only to qualify the personnel of health, instead evaluating the training it is possible to improve the quality of the attention of people VIH/SIDA.
